Brad Hoffman, DO
Joins Excelsior Springs Hospital as Director of Emergency Department

“Welcome home Brad,” stated Nanette Houck, Assistant Hospital Administrator.
Effective February 1, 2017, previous Excelsior Springs resident and 1985 ESHS honor graduate will become the new ESH Emergency Department Director.

“We are so excited to have Dr. Hoffman on staff at ESH,” Houck replied. “He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to emergency room services and we are looking forward to having him on board.”

“I truly share the excitement expressed by Nanette and the Hospital Board,” said Hoffman. “Their enthusiasm is contagious. One of the first things Nanette said to me is that the primary mission of the hospital is to provide the best possible care for the people in our community and we share that common goal.”

Raised in Excelsior Springs, Hoffman went on to graduate with honors from Rockhurst College in 1989 with a BS in Physical Therapy. In 1997 he graduated Suma cum Laude Doctorate from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in Emergency Medicine from Tulsa Regional Medical Center at Oklahoma State University and was chief resident from 2000-2001. Board Certified in Emergency Medicine he also performed duties as:

· Director of Emergency Medical Services for Excelsior Springs Fire and Rescue
· Director of Emergency Medical Services for Lawson Fire and Rescue
· Director of Emergency Medical Services for Liberty Fire and Rescue
· Director of Emergency Medical Services for Kearney Fire and Rescue
· Founder and operator of Matthew 25 Free Clinic for the indigent population
· William Jewell College Nursing Advisory Board

Dr. Hoffman received the prestigious ES Chamber Volunteer of the Year award in 2009-10, for his work with the Matthew 25 Free Clinic held at the Good Samaritan Center in Excelsior Springs.

“Seeing the civic pride that has come from strong leadership and community involvement in things such as the beautification and resurgence of residences and businesses in the area, the Hospital Board and administration have proven to clearly reflect that serious commitment to the greater good of Excelsior Springs,” stated Hoffman. “I am humbled yet proud to be a part of that and am committed to the role I will be filling. I want to express my appreciation and respect to the board and administration for giving due diligence in taking a major step for the hospital and the community.”
